Districts vary in student population, number of schools, unique needs and constraints. There are many tasks to be identified, assigned and completed in the implementation of a new student information system or the “upgrade” of your existing system. We recommend that you select a leadership team comprised of management, technical and site staff members.
For clients that are just starting to use Aeries, some of the major areas that must be addressed are:
- Meeting minimum hardware and system software requirements
- Assigning responsibility for tasks and procedures
- Establishing an overall timeline for going “live” with Aeries
- Conversion of existing data
- Standardization of District codes, courses, etc.
- Establishment of District policies, security and procedures
- Installation of the Aeries client on server(s) and workstations
- Installation of Aeries.net on internal and external servers
- Identification of staff for training, create a training schedule
- Identification of procedures for exports to other applications
